A total crawlspace encapsulation helps create a healthy environment for your home. It creates a barrier that prevents moisture, pests, and outside air from entering your space. This helps with smells, heat and air quality in your home. This also reduces the potential of mold growth which is a major source of musty smells in your home and is also not good for your health. It also helps maintain a more stable temperature in your home by keeping the outside elements out and the inside air quality in. In turn this makes your home more energy efficient. We accomplish this by removing inside floor insulation because it will hold moisture and grow mold. We place a new type of insulation on the walls of your crawlspace to insulate your home in the form of 3 inch white foam boards that are termite resistant. The 12 mil vapor barrier is laid on the crawlspace floor and sealed to the foam board using a 9 mil crawlspace fastener (tape). The piers are also wrapped in the 12 mil vapor barrier material. All the vents are sealed off and an April Aire E-70 or E-100 Commercial Dehumidifier is placed in your crawlspace to keep any moisture from affecting your home.
